Emily Okaty Wilson writes about life seen through the eyes of the average wife and mother. Her writing style is conversational, honest, insightful and sometimes funny while she tries to depict a world of organized chaos. She has experienced the heartbreak of divorce, the joy of finding true love, the emptiness of depression, the elation of overcoming personal obstacles and the clarity of embracing her creativity.
Although Emily calls Michigan home, she spent most of her life growing up in Texas, graduating from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in English. She lives with her husband, two daughters and spoiled Maltzu puppy. She is a freelance writer, blogger, public speaker, novice runner and semi-professional oboist. Some of her work has been published in The Livingston Parent Journal, Chicken Soup for the Mother of Preschooler’s Soul, and MomSense Magazine by Christianity Today. Other publication venues include Vox Poetica, Blissfully Domestic, and The Detroit News MichMoms. Emily is also a contributing book blogger for Novel Publicity, while her personal blog is a place to document her life, and hopefully inspire others to be the best wife, mother and woman that they can possibly be.
